Xian, Shaanxi province
Shaanxi had been the political economic and cultural centre
of China before the 10th century. It lies in the hinterland
of China with a total area of 205,600 square km.
Population
Shaanxi province has a population of 36 million. In which, 0.5 million of the total population are Muslims.
Xian is the provincial capital, covers an area of 9.983 km² with
a population of 6.7 million. It is also the starting point of silk road in ancient China.
Industry & Manpower
Thousands of science and technology research institutions
are available in Shaanxi, employing some 920 thousand professional and
technical people. Proportion of technical people percentage ranks second in China. Strong research and production capability has been shown in the realms of aviation, aerospace, machinery, electronics, textile, energy and pharmacy.
